CY, Connecting Yourth, is a community-based organization dedicated to creating a safe, healthy environment for young people.
Originally formed in 1990, CY is run by a full-time Coordinator and a Board of Directors comprised of students, parents, and school staff, as well as representatives from law enforcement, the medical field, local businesses, and other community agencies.
The following people serve on the 2010-11 Board of Directors:

We also have workgroups comprised of other community members who work on the following projects: positive parenting; publicity and membership; student activities; legislative issues; and outreach and trainings. CY is funded primarily through
a combination of federal and state grants. These include:

the Vermont Department of Health's "Community Tobacco Control" grant and "Strategic Prevention Framework" grant;
-
the U.S. Department of Education's "Safe and Drug-Free Schools & Communities" grant;
-
the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration "Drug Free Communities Support" program grant;
-
the Vermont Department of Health's "New Directions Student Assistance Program" grant; and
-
the Vermont Department of Education's "School-based Tobacco Prevention" grant.
In addition, CY solicits funding from local individuals and businesses through an annual membership campaign. (Please go to the link "Join" for more information on this.)
