Stimulants are drugs that can be used to increase alertness, relieve fatigue, feel stronger and more decisive. They are also used for euphoric effects or to counteract the "down" felling of depressants or alcohol. The "stimulants" category include a variety of well known drugs like cocaine, ice, amphetamines, methamphetamines, phenmetrazine and methylphenidate. Even coffee is a stimulant... The truth is that stimulants can come in several shapes and sizes, and there are some you may see every day. Caffeine is a huge stimulant in today's society. It is found in coffee, soda, and sports drinks. It works just like cocaine or ice to speed up your nervous systems' function and increase your alertness. Some may not realize it, but caffeine is a highly addictive drug and has all of the same withdrawal symptoms as cocaine and ice! |
