Chittenden South has several programs to address
the issue of violence among youth. For example, all of our schools use
two "research-based" violence prevention programs as part of
the school curriculum: "Life Skills Training" with 3rd through
8th graders and "Second Step" with K - 8 students. Our parenting
program, "Parenting for Success: Dealing with the Tough Issues"
is also designed to reduce violence among youth and encourage healthy
ways of resolving conflict. Finally, our peer prevention program (CY LEAD)
for middle and high school students focuses on teaching youth how to promote
a safe & healthy school climate. |
